Earthworks Planning Checklist
A practical earthworks checklist covering levels, drainage, spoil handling, machine access, stockpiles and truck movements.
Define the finished outcome
Record existing and required levels, drainage direction, platform dimensions and areas that must remain undisturbed. Drawings or survey information help separate cutting, filling, stockpiling and material removal.
Plan material movement
Estimate what can be reused, what requires imported fill and what must leave site. Allocate haul routes, truck loading positions, stockpiles and water or compaction support. Sequence the work so material is not handled repeatedly or placed where it blocks later construction.
Quote preparation checklist
- Confirm the machine or required site outcome
- Share the exact location and measured access constraints
- Explain the material being moved, excavated or delivered
- Provide dates, working hours, site photographs and drawings
