How to Prepare a Site Before Heavy Equipment Arrives
Use this checklist to prepare access routes, utilities, turning space, working areas and site photos before machinery arrives.
Prepare the route and work zone
Measure gates, remove parked vehicles and confirm that paving, culverts and soft verges can carry the machine or delivery truck. Identify an offloading area with enough room for safe ramps, turning and separation from pedestrians.
Mark hazards before mobilisation
Locate underground water, electricity, sewer and communication services. Mark overhead cables, septic systems, retaining walls and weak surfaces. Confirm the site contact, security access, working hours and where spoil, rubble or delivered material will be placed.
Quote preparation checklist
- Confirm the machine or required site outcome
- Share the exact location and measured access constraints
- Explain the material being moved, excavated or delivered
- Provide dates, working hours, site photographs and drawings
