What each hire type includes
Wet hire normally supplies the machine with an operator. Dry hire normally supplies the machine without an operator, leaving the client responsible for competent operation and day-to-day control. Fuel, transport, attachments and supervision are separate items that must still be confirmed in the quotation.
Compare responsibility, not only rate
Dry hire can suit an experienced contractor with approved operators and site systems. Wet hire can simplify operator availability and machine familiarity. Before accepting either option, confirm damage responsibility, minimum hours, standby time, fuel, security, inspections and who controls work instructions on site.
